EFISC-GTP Certification for Feed Ingredient Supply Chains
Demonstrate that the trading, storage and transportation of your feed ingredients are managed in accordance with recognised European feed safety requirements.

EFISC-GTP certification helps organisations control feed safety risks, maintain traceability and meet the expectations of customers and certified supply-chain partners.
What Is EFISC-GTP?
EFISC-GTP is a European certification scheme developed specifically for organisations operating in the feed and food ingredient supply chain.

It establishes requirements for the safe collection, trading, storage, handling and transportation of ingredients. The scheme helps operators identify relevant hazards, control suppliers, maintain product traceability and manage feed safety throughout their activities.

EFISC-GTP combines good trading and operating practices with a structured feed safety management system. Its requirements include HACCP-based risk assessment, prerequisite programmes, documented procedures, product monitoring, incident management and communication across the supply chain.

Independent certification provides customers and business partners with evidence that the organisation’s management system and operational controls have been assessed against the applicable EFISC-GTP requirements.

The scheme was developed with the support of European industry organisations including COCERAL, FEDIOL, Starch Europe, EBB and Euromalt.

The EFISC-GTP Certification Process
The certification process is planned according to your organisation’s activities, locations, product groups, operational complexity and requested EFISC-GTP scope.
  • Application and Scope Definition
You provide information about your organisation, locations, products and activities, including trading, collection, storage, transshipment and transportation.
    1
  • Certification Proposal
Based on the submitted information, GIC calculates the required audit duration and prepares a certification proposal. Once the conditions have been agreed, the certification agreement is signed and the audit is scheduled.
    2
  • Audit Preparation
The organisation prepares the required feed safety management system documentation and confirms that relevant procedures have been implemented.
    3
  • Initial Certification Audit
The auditor evaluates the organisation’s management system and operational activities against the applicable EFISC-GTP requirements.
    4
  • Corrective Actions and Certification Decision
Any identified nonconformities must be analysed and corrected within the agreed period. Following the review of the audit report and corrective actions, an independent certification decision is made. If all applicable requirements have been fulfilled, the certificate is issued.
    5
  • Annual and Unannounced Audits
EFISC-GTP certification operates within a three-year certification cycle, with a full audit conducted every 12 months.

Why Choose GIC for EFISC-GTP Certification?
GUARD IS CERTIFICATION is an international certification body authorised to provide EFISC-GTP certification services for feed and food ingredient trading, storage and transportation activities.

Our auditors combine certification competence with practical knowledge of feed, agricultural and supply-chain operations. This allows the audit to consider the organisation’s actual products, processes, suppliers, facilities and transportation activities rather than applying a purely formal approach.

GIC organises the certification process through clearly defined stages, from the initial application and scope review to audit planning, certification decision and subsequent annual audits. Clients receive clear information about the required documentation, applicable EFISC-GTP scope and further actions throughout the process.

We work with traders, storage operators, logistics providers and other organisations involved in international feed ingredient supply chains. Certificates issued by GIC can also be checked through our online certificate database, allowing customers and business partners to verify their current status.
