EFISC-GTP Certification. European Feed & Food Ingredients Safety System
EFISC-GTP (European Feed & Food Ingredients Safety Certification – Good Trading Practice) is a European certification system developed by industry associations to ensure the safety of feed and food ingredients at all stages of the supply chain.
The scheme covers the production, storage, transport, trade and processing of ingredients and aims to ensure compliance with EU legislation and international market requirements.
EFISC-GTP certification confirms that the company has implemented a safety management system based on the principles of HACCP, supplier control, traceability and risk management.

What is EFISC-GTP
The EFISC-GTP system was created by European industry organizations
COCERAL, FEDIOL, Starch Europe, Euromalt, EBB
to harmonize feed ingredient safety requirements and facilitate international trade.
The standard:
• is based on the requirements of the Feed Hygiene Regulation EC 183/2005
• uses HACCP principles
• takes into account the specifics of trade and logistics
• provides for independent third-party certification
The implementation of EFISC-GTP allows companies to operate in the European and international market without additional audits from buyers.

Who needs EFISC-GTP certification
Certification is recommended for companies operating in the following areas:
• production of feed ingredients
• trade in grain, oilseeds, protein components
• storage and transshipment
• transportation of feed
• processing of plant raw materials
• export to the EU
The standard is specially designed for supply chain operators, not only for manufacturers.
EFISC-GTP — a response to the requirements of the modern market

The modern market of feed ingredients places increased demands on suppliers.
Key challenges:
• Mandatory traceability throughout the supply chain
• European buyers’ requirements for certification
• The need to work within a system of mutual recognition of schemes
• Control by importers and traders
• Compliance with EU legislation
EFISC-GTP provides:
✔ Supplier control
✔ Risk assessment
✔ Procurement management
✔ Batch traceability
✔ Compliance with EU regulations
✔ Recognition on the international market
Purchase control as a key requirement of the standard
In international feed trade, the main risks arise precisely during procurement.

EFISC-GTP sets requirements for:
• Supplier assessment and approval
• Certification verification
• Risk analysis for each product
• Contract control
• Documentary proof of origin
• Procedures in case of non-conformities
This approach allows to ensure the safety of products even before they arrive at the warehouse.

Mutual recognition with other schemes
EFISC-GTP is part of the mutual recognition system with:
• GMP+
• QS
• OVOCOM (FCA)
• AIC
This means that products from certified companies can be supplied to other systems without repeated audits.

Advantages of EFISC-GTP certification
✔ standard developed by industry practices
✔ compliance with EU legislation
✔ recognition by the international market
✔ control of purchases and suppliers
✔ minimization of duplication of audits
✔ risk-based approach
✔ possibility of multi-site certification
✔ optimal for traders and exporters
